Where Mission Flows from Teaching
He whose “delight is in the law of the LORD. . . is like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.” (Ps. 1:2,3)
Twelve Mile Creek Church (TMCC) is a new church planted in February 2010. (more text coming soon)

Why is it called Twelve Mile Creek Church? Twelve Mile Creek is a local natural landmark. It meanders through Wesley Chapel, Weddington, and Waxhaw before emptying into the Catawba River and its name is interwoven through local history. We believe that Christian ministry and discipleship needs to happen first and foremost in local churches. So, we wanted a name that tied the church to the community and indicated our desire for local impact. Further, it can be representative of the “living water” (John 4:10,11) found through life in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39).
So now here we are, and God has called a Core Team to Plant this Local Church in Weddington, NC. We are pumped about the entire adventure! It will be a marathon, not a sprint! We are not looking to be the next best and biggest church. Nor are we looking to video ourselves all over the world. But the team has a huge heart for: the Bible, deep discipleship, all types of missions, and a passion to develop leaders with plans to plant churches!
That about settles it! Come check us out!
What should I wear to Twelve Mile Creek Church?
Come as you are. TMCC is a casual atmosphere and you are welcome to dress in your “Sunday best” or completely casual. We have no expectation regarding this issue and simply hope that you come prepared in mind and spirit to worship and learn about our great God.
Do you have childcare?
We do not currently have childcare during the worship service, though we expect to provide as it becomes needed. TMCC values having children learning about Jesus Christ along side their parents in a family atmosphere, so we encourage you to bring your children into the service. We view children not as a distraction, but as a delight. Child care will be provided for 0 to 6 years during the main teaching service as the congregation grows and there is a need.
Sunday school is provided for all ages (children through adult) after the main worship service.
Do you have weekday services or programs?
We do not have any formal services other than on Sunday morning. Small community Life Groups are expected to play a large role in life at TMCC and we are in the planning stages for developing this important aspect of Christian discipleship. Currently, the adult Sunday school class is a very important way for connecting with other believers in the process of life through Bible study, sharing, and praying.
TMCC does not desire that members be so involved in church activities that there is little time left to interact with people in your neighborhoods and communities. The schedule is intentionally left open for the remainder of the week so that you may take the light of Christ to your families and those around you.
